Of course administrators are not the dark side, they're our colleagues and allies as we battle to provide the best experience possible for end users, so please don't fight them, collaborate instead. It's considerably more useful for everyone involved. Incidentally, a Stack Exchange Q&A site for Salesforce and Force.com would be a great way of collaborating with the wider community (hint, hint).
